Osage Ministry Report by Leonard Crowl

I am sure you are aware that we continue to take ministry to the Osage on a twice a month basis. On the week-end of September 5th, Forrest Liggett and I made a trip to Pawhuska, Oklahoma. We were told that a family was preparing supper for us. This family wanted our prayers for them and that their whole family would be there with the exception of one daughter , who was in the hospital. The daughter had a liver infection, was pregnant and had several other complications. The mother has diabetes and must go Into the hospital to have both legs amputated below the knees. These Indian people are Catholic and yet they called on us to come pray for them. We have been accepted among the Osage tribe as well as being invited into their homes and among their families.

Forrest had the whole family form a circle and each one prayed as it came their turn. The spirit was present in great abundance as it always is when we meet with these Indian people. They recognize this feeling when we are among them, while offering our prayers and giving of ourselves in service to them. After the service and meal were over, the father took us to the hospital to visit their daughter. Forrest administered to the daughter by anointing her head with oil and laying hands on her head to give her a blessing. These trips are always a spiritual high and I often wonder what I have done to deserve such a privilege of being allowed to be a part of this great and marvelous work. Somehow when we are in service to others, trying to take the ministry to them, we are ourselves ministered to by the spirit. Again I must ask, why me, Lord?
